5 Camping Essentials Every Woman Needs

September is here but summer isn’t over yet! With the weather cooling down and bugs (hopefully) dying off, there’s still time to camp.

It’s important to pack light, especially if you’re hiking in, but even a woman in a tent needs a few supplies.

Here are my top 5 beauty items that I recommend every woman stash in their camping pack.

Face moisturizer with SPF: I moisturize everyday, and I always use SPF on my face. If you disregard everything else on this list, please don’t venture out without SPF face protection. I use a tinted variety to help smooth out my skin tone and keep it looking fresh. My favorite is Josie Maran argan tinted moisturizer with SPF 40. (author’s note: I can’t find this moisturizer sold by itself any more but this kit is also a really great deal! Or you can pick up the untinted version).

Lip balm with SPF: I never leave home without at least two lip products in my bag. Camping is no different, I usually carry my Burt’s Bees and recently I discovered Pangea Organics lip balm. I’ve heard that wax-based balm stays on longer in the sun and the essential oils in the balm help prevent and treat sunburn. Definitely grab some balm with SPF for extra protection. Tip: Shiny lip gloss is a big no-no when expecting prolonged sun exposure because it can actually cause your lips to get burnt.

Dry shampoo: Dry shampoo is seriously a life saver, well hair-life saver. When you spend more than 24 hours in the woods, and you’re likely climbing, biking or hiking around, you tend to get a bit sweaty. No where to wash your locks? No problem. Spray some dry shampoo or sprinkle some baby powder on your hair and tousle. Voilà, instantly fresh and clean. My dry shampoo pick is Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk.

Hair tie/headband: When you don’t have time to primp your locks, you can easily mask any issues, like oil or frizz, with a cute hair tie and headband. I recommend these cute cloth hair ties; they don’t leave a dent in your hair and hold great!

Nail file: Hang nails can happen anywhere, even in the woods.

Leave me a comment with your favorite camping spot and anything that you would add to this list.

Happy camping!
